Cindy Watch

A Kosipolitan's monitoring the Iconoclast's blog for Camp Casey updates. George W. Bush's hometown paper's website is overrun with traffic, so for updates, I'd keep checking the Kos link. Here's whazzup:
9 a.m. Nasty weather, cold rain, hard at times. Rumors persist that she will be arrested.

11:45 a.m. Weather still nasty. Standing water everywhere, including triangular area they were kicked off of yesterday. No trespassing sign posted there now. Area farmers driving by, telling Cindy she's made her point, why doesn't she leave?
Cindy conducting phone interviews at Peace House. Her own phone is overrun with calls. Those wanting to contact Cindy, please call Ann Wright of CodePink, 808-741-1141. She will take messages.
Veterans for Peace of Louisiana has sent 1,000 crosses, and people in Crawford plan to put them up in the ditch along the road tomorrow, need volunteers to help with this.
Austin Veterans for Peace chairman has issued a call for all veterans to come to Crawford to support Cindy.

Another 800+ crosses are needed. Should be one for every fallen US soldier.

Yep, another 800 crosses for starters. I'd also like to see an artificial limb on a spear for every limb lost, and a hockey goalie's mask for every face burned.

I can't believe, not one farmer will let them on their land. What a bunch of cocksuckers.

This is going to get ugly.

May I make a suggestion Capitola ? No more fallen soldiers. It's wingnuttery propaganda, it softens the reality of their sacrifice. what is needed is a word that implies honor and dignity, yet has the ability to make people realize that these soldiers aren't going down gently, that they are being killed.

Slain soldier is the best I can do, any other ideas ??

But what do I know...

You got it, ScottW.

"fallen soldiers" *isn't* necessarily appropriate in this war of choice based on lies ... but what to call them without sounding crass?

List each by name would be a start, and sadly, a helluva long post.
